“Persino in questo paese relativamente libero, gli uomini, nella maggior parte, sono così presi da false preoccupazioni e dai più superflui e grossolani lavori per la vita, che non possono cogliere i frutti più saporiti che questa offre loro: le fatiche eccessive cui si sottopongono hanno reso le loro dita impacciate e tremanti.
In effetti, un uomo che lavori duramente non ha abbastanza tempo per conservare giorno per giorno la propria vera integrità: non può permettersi di mantenere con gli altri uomini i più nobili rapporti, perchè il suo lavoro sarebbe deprezzato sul mercato; ha tempo solo per essere una macchina.”

Questo scriveva lo scrittore e filosofo H.D. Thoreau a metà Ottocento e considero il mio percorso iniziato proprio da questo pensiero.
Nel 2013 iniziai ad imparare da me ad intagliare su legno contemporaneamente alla mia decisione di abbandonare la strada che fino ad allora mi sembrava l’unica percorribile, comoda, ragionevole, ma con troppi spazi vuoti. In quell’anno ebbi il privilegio e la fortuna di diventare apprendista presso artigiani falegnami, presso i quali appresi per diversi anni l’arte dell’arredo e della falegnameria.
Nel 2017 decisi di tornare alle origini, e capii che ciò che cercavo in questo mestiere era il rapporto intimo con la materia legno e per me non c’è niente che me lo può far sentire come l’intaglio e la scultura. Da allora ho iniziato a realizzare ordini su misura e diverse tipologie di prodotti, dagli accessori per persone a quelli per la decorazione di interni.
Iniziai a ricercare un mio stile che potesse trasmettere un nesso tra la natura e l’uomo. Le mie sculture traggono ispirazione da pensieri poetici e filosofici, caratteristiche ed emozioni umane.

Poi arrivai ad un punto dove non intagliai più per dedicarmi ad altro e con amarezza non toccai più gli attrezzi da intaglio per 5 anni. Però come spesso capita nella vita, ciò che ha davvero valore non se ne va mai e nel 2025 ho ripreso la mia strada del legno per farla crescere nel mio futuro.
Ciò che faccio per me non rappresenta solo un lavoro fine ad un guadagno, ma rappesenta un modo di vivere a pieno la propria vita e se stessi, arricchendosi giorno dopo giorno attraverso le sfide che bisogna superare per rappresentare un soggetto o per arrivare ad un determinato obiettivo e spingersi sempre oltre imparando e migliorando aspetti di sè che fino a quel momento non si conoscevano.

Oggi, realizzo sculture in legno su commissione ed attraverso il progetto LEGNO NARRANTE, creo decor narrativo in legno: oggetti naturali, carichi di storie, che aprono portali d’immaginazione e accompagnano lettura, gioco creativo, arte e momenti di riflessione.

These were the words of the writer and philosopher H.D. Thoreau in the mid-19th century — and I consider my own journey to have begun from that very thought.

In 2013, I began to teach myself wood carving, at the same time as I chose to leave behind the path that had seemed the only possible one — comfortable, reasonable, yet filled with empty spaces.
That same year, I had the privilege and the good fortune to become an apprentice to master woodworkers. For several years, I learned from them the art of furniture making and fine woodworking.

In 2017, I decided to return to my origins. I realized that what I truly sought in this craft was an intimate relationship with the essence of wood — and nothing allows me to feel it as deeply as carving and sculpture.
Since then, I have been creating bespoke commissions and various kinds of handcrafted works, from personal accessories to interior decorations.

I began to search for my own style — one that could express the connection between nature and humanity. My sculptures draw inspiration from poetic and philosophical thoughts, and from the essence of human emotion.

Then I reached a point where I stopped carving to dedicate myself to other things. For five years, I didn’t touch my carving tools — a pause that carried a touch of bitterness.
But as often happens in life, what truly holds meaning never disappears. And in 2025, I returned to the path of wood — this time to make it grow into my future.

What I do is not merely a way to make a living; it is a way of living fully — of meeting oneself through the challenges each work brings, of learning and improving, of discovering new parts of who we are.

Today, I create wooden sculptures on commission and, through my project LEGNO NARRANTE, I craft narrative wooden décor: natural, story-filled objects that open portals of imagination and accompany reading, creative play, art, and reflection.
